Short version: we sell automated research reports built from public federal data. They are honest, useful screenings — and they are not surveys, determinations, or professional services.
RemoveFloodInsurance.com provides (1) a free flood-map lookup and (2) paid research reports compiling data from FEMA's National Flood Hazard Layer and USGS 3DEP elevation data for a property you specify. Reports are generated automatically and delivered by email as PDF documents.
Nothing we provide is a land survey, an Elevation Certificate, an engineering opinion or instrument of service, a flood zone determination for lending purposes, insurance advice, or legal advice. Eligibility for any FEMA Letter of Map Amendment is decided solely by FEMA based on field-surveyed elevations certified by a licensed professional. Whether a lender requires flood insurance is ultimately the lender's decision under federal law and its own credit policy.
We read federal data sources live and state our methodology and its error budget in every report. Screening-level elevation analysis carries inherent uncertainty (LiDAR accuracy, map rounding, geocoding position), which is why verdicts are expressed as screening conclusions, not certifications, and why the refund policy exists.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising from the service is limited to the amount you paid for the report at issue. We are not liable for decisions you or third parties (including lenders and insurers) make in reliance on a screening report.
